ArgusEye is a Swedish company developing and providing innovative sensor systems for the biopharma industry. Our vision is to become a leading provider of integrated sensor systems to improve the efficiency and accuracy of biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes. The company was founded in 2017 and is currently in a scale-up phase, going from start-up to an established company. The patented technology is the result of extensive academic research at Linköping University and is based on nanoplasmonic sensing combined with fiber optics.

 

What will you be working with?

As an R&D Lab Engineer at ArgusEye, you will have the opportunity to be part of a small but growing team that works with our sensor development. Your primary role will involve working on the development of new sensor chips, including design, fabrication, and evaluation of novel sensor chips for our sensor systems. This will require you to utilize various characterization and manufacturing techniques. Additionally, you will be expected to collaborate effectively with other team members to ensure the successful integration of the sensor chips into our overall system.

You will be responsible for planning, designing, and executing experiments to evaluate the performance of various sensor chips. This includes hand-on laboratory work, data analysis, and lab organization and maintenance. In addition, being part of a smaller company also means that you will be deeply involved in the company’s development and growth including the establishment of new working routines, collaborations, and interactions.

You have a passion for research and enjoy spending time in the lab doing practical experiments. You understand the importance of a systematic approach and documentation for a successful product development process. You have a documented experience in lab work, and a deep understanding of general chemical and biological principles.

To succeed in the role, you need to be comfortable working with multiple tasks in a flexible environment where projects and priorities can change quickly. You have the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and execute experiments related to the development and characterization of various sensor chips.
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and concepts for sensor chip design and fabrication.
  • Maintain precise laboratory notebooks, electronic records following high standards of data quality and integrity.
  • Prepare scientific/technical reports, summaries, protocols, etc, and present them to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform regular lab maintenance to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
You have
  • MSc or PhD degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
  • Documented experience working with a range of tools and equipment in a laboratory setting. Experience in SPR or other protein-protein interaction technologies are meriting.
  • Strong understanding of general chemical principles and biomolecular interactions.
  • Ability to perform laboratory procedures accurately and reproducibly.
  • Capable to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage several projects in parallel, paying careful attention to details.
  • Proficient in standard Office programs like Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
